The summit of Sugar Loaf is reached with a moderate walk from the carpark. It’s good to keep in mind that the ascent gets continually steeper as you go up, until you reach the flat top! Wear proper hiking boots.
It’s worth noting that this summit is within the Brecon Beacons National Park and therefore qualifies for POTA too. If I’d realised this in time, I would have made sure to get the required 10 contacts.

The summit has a relatively large area however this is usually very busy with other walkers. I chose to setup a few meters down the steep side of the hill so as to not become a nuisance.
Band conditions were good however I had accidentally coincided my activation with CQWW contest! For this reason, even on 17m it was hard to find a clear frequency.
